A Day in the Life of Three Husky Puppies.

The three husky puppies, Diamond Istas and Indi are the stars of my books and they're not figments of my imagination! They really do exist. They live with me and keep me on my toes most days. The puppies typical day is a busy one, or they think it is. Busy for me, maybe!

Typically, their day (and hence mine, too) starts very early, at six o'clock in the morning. I do not know how the puppies know the time but they do, as they get up at the same time every day, even weekends. They start getting very vocal and start calling out for me to get out of bed. They'll normally shout, "Come on, mummy, get out of bed, we need a wee!" and it is normally Diamond doing the shouting. Diamond is definitely the boss and she really does think she is a princess! The minute I reach the top of the stairs, the puppies all run ahead, to the back door and wait for me. Diamond again is always the first to the door. They go out and do the morning ablutions and then they start to play.

After this they are all tired (and so am I. Anyone with a dog doesn't have sleep-ins!) and they need to sleep for a few hours to get their energy back. They wake up around 10.30 am and start to play again. They will play for ages. After playing they all start talking to me, telling me it is time for food. It is really funny when they all start talking. Huskies are vocal dogs and they take it in turn to speak, then they all join in together. I have my orders, it's time to get their breakfast ready. The puppies do not sit quietly and wait, they jump about like kangaroos.

The puppies all have their own bowls and they know which is their bowl, clever puppies. After feeding time at the zoo, it is back out to play for a while until it is nap time. Lucky for them, they can nap, I will have my own breakfast and get ready, keeping an eye on them and what they are up to.

They each have their own little spot where they sleep. Diamond under the coffee table, Indi in the chair and Istas likes to lie in the hallway. They sleep nearly all afternoon and I can get on with my own jobs, like researching for my books, doing a bit of writing, or photography, which is my other passion besides the dogs and writing.

After nap time, it's playtime again! Around this time, I don't feel like playing, but the puppies do and sometimes I have to join in. By early evening, the puppies are hungry again. Their favourite meal is chicken and I prepare their food before I make my own so that I can eat in peace because after tea, the puppies will play, giving me time to have my dinner. Then, the puppies will play until it's time for bed.

After their busy day the puppies then sleep all night.

I wish I had a life like the puppies it seems so much fun.
